CNC Screw Machinist (2nd Shift)

Location: La Verne
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday from 2:00pm – 10:00pm
Pay Rate: $25 – $35/hour (Depending on experience)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate, set up, and troubleshoot screw machines, including CNC lathe equipment, to produce precise parts according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
  • Program CNC machines using G-code and M-code commands, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to quality standards.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control inspections.
  • Perform machine maintenance, tooling changes, and adjustments to maintain consistent production quality.
  • Conduct manual machining operations using hand tools, grinders, and other machining tools when necessary.
  • Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ideal candidates should possess the following skills/qualifications demonstrated through previous work experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC Screw machines
  • Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines.
  • Experience programming CNC machines highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Skilled in using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality inspection.
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately.
  • Experience with tooling setup, machine calibration, and troubleshooting CNC equipment.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control standards in metal machining environments.
